WHY USE POWER PLATFORM?

Businesses are modernizing their workflows much faster than anyone anticipated. Now that remote work has become commonplace due to the pandemic, it’s impossible not to notice significant changes unfolding. According to Microsoft’s research group, demand for new applications – especially on mobile – is skyrocketing. It’s estimated that more than 500 million new apps will be developed over the next 5 years.
Businesses want to do more, faster, and for less money. To overcome the challenges associated with rapid digital transformation, they will need tools to facilitate the modernization and innovation process. That’s where Power Platform comes in.

What is Power Platform?
It’s a development platform with very little code involved that includes all kinds of services, like connector suites for existing apps. It also offers a wide range of pre-made frameworks and the ability to create virtual agents (bots). All services, connectors, applications, and frameworks can be created relatively quickly. Power Platform is therefore a key part of the digital transformation movement and the business modernization wave.

The 4 Power Platform components:
Power Platform has 4 main components that address businesses’ data analysis and data automation needs:

  • Power Automate
  • Power Apps
  • Power BI
  • Power Virtual Agents

Our implementation process :
How can you ensure your business is getting the most out of Power Platform’s tools? We have a proven process to help you facilitate proper implementation.

Pre-project iteration
We always recommend starting with a pre-project iteration phase before kicking off development. At this stage, we will analyze your application requirements and data sources. Then, we will establish a delivery schedule.

This process only takes a few days; you will quickly receive a schedule that includes tasks and budget details. At that point, you will have all of the elements you need to decide whether or not to move forward. This step helps stakeholders get on the same page and facilitates proper expectation management. Our goal is to make sure the process is mapped out and easy for your team to understand.

If it’s your first iteration
If this is your first time doing something like this, we will create what’s called a “transition architecture.” Based on your feature list, we will determine which applications will be most useful to you.

We always deliver our iterations via Multisite and are also in charge of hosting workshops. Our team will manage each iteration and status update, while sharing weekly progress via DevOps. We also manage the product backlog and configuration.

Finally, we will deliver estimates that outline the number of working days required, a full calendar, and project scope options from simple to complex deliveries

How to ensure your new systems are high-quality?
It’s important to run tests at each stage of your implementation to make sure your new systems are working properly. Integration tests and functional tests will be necessary to ensure complance. For example, you will need to understand how the system behaves after you click a button, and whether the data has been saved properly. If the data collection is working, user testing should be the next step. These tests will confirm whether the applications are easy to use and work for your target audience. Even if an application works from a programming standpoint, it’ s important to verify that the average user can use it effectively as well.

What about ROI?
According to a Forrester study that was published on Microsoft’s website, Power Platform takes 3 years to deliver a 500% return on investment.

Finally, Power Platform allows businesses to cut down on repetitive and manual tasks that offer little added value. It reduces the risk of human error by automating processes and improving efficiency. It’ s an excellent tool for modernizing your data management flows, and Microsoft always respects the most stringent international/regional standards and certifications for data management.
